I'm Iris Haberzettl, graphic designer, textile designer and founder of Fabric From The Attic.
My love for weaving began in my grandparents' attic — between boxes full of wool, yarn and an old loom. It was there that I discovered how fascinating it is to create something new from individual threads.
Today I would like to share this enthusiasm. My workshops are about much more than just learning a technique. I want to create a space where people can escape from everyday life for a few hours, relax and work with their hands again.
We spend a large part of our day in front of screens, organizing appointments and completing to-do lists. Creativity often falls by the wayside. In my workshops, you can try things out, without pressure and without perfectionism. Anyone can be creative — regardless of previous knowledge.
My goal is to introduce people to the joy of doing things themselves and to give them an experience that will be remembered for a long time.

Location

My workshops take place in my cozy studio in Vienna's second district. The rooms offer a relaxed and personal atmosphere in which all participants feel welcome.
All materials and tools are provided by me. The workshops are deliberately held in small groups of a maximum of eight people. This leaves enough time for individual support, exchange and creative work.

Classes and events

My workshops combine traditional crafts with modern design and a relaxed atmosphere.
The participants create their own unique item — for example a woven bag, a vase or a wall decoration. At the same time, they experience how decelerating and fulfilling creative work with their hands can be.
It is particularly important to me that no one needs any previous knowledge. There is no right or wrong. The focus is on the joy of designing, the shared experience and the opportunity to completely immerse yourself in the creative process for a few hours.

Team events and private events

In addition to open workshops, I also offer private events for birthdays, stag parties, groups of friends or team events.
Collaborative creative work creates a special connection between people. Unlike many classic team building activities, this creates something personal that everyone can take home with them.
The relaxed atmosphere, the small groups and the collaboration make for unforgettable moments, lots of conversations and lots of fun doing things yourself.
