In this intensive pottery course, you have the opportunity to work creatively and concentrated on your own ceramic projects in a small group. Under expert guidance, you will learn about different types of clay, construction techniques and design options. In addition to practical work, you will gain valuable insights into firing processes, engobes and glazes. The course offers plenty of room for individual ideas and is suitable for both beginners and advanced users who want to expand their knowledge and create unique workpieces.

What you’ll do in the class
- Welcoming and introductory round of course participants
- Setting up the workplace and discussing safety regulations
- Getting to know and choosing different types of clay
- Preparation of clay using kneading techniques
- Planning and preparation of your workpieces
- Manufacture of individual ceramic pieces using construction techniques
- Lunch break from approx. 13:00 to 13:45 (not included)
- Continue working on the workpieces in the afternoon
- Use the potter's wheel as a supporting tool when needed
- Introduction to glazes, gradient glazes and engobes
- Discussion of firing processes and surface design
- Course ends at 16:00
- After approx. 3 weeks, you can glaze your works yourself or pick them up after about 6 weeks, finished glazed
Who is the class suitable for?
The intensive day course is aimed at beginners and advanced students who want to design individual ceramic pieces or specifically develop their pottery skills. Intensive support is possible due to the small size of the group. The course is not suitable for children under 16 years of age and is particularly suitable for participants who want to concentrate and work creatively.
