About this class
Dive into the fascinating world of portrait painting and learn how to create realistic portraits with oil paints. Our ongoing workshops offer individual support in a small group of a maximum of 8 participants. Valerie, our experienced course instructor, will guide you through every step of the painting process and help you develop your personal expressive skills.
It won't be possible to complete your painting in one unit - so make sure you make sure you make sure you make more appointments right away! We recommend that you book at least 3 units (2.5 hours each) to complete a portrait!

What you’ll do in the class
Our workshop is divided into several units of 2.5 hours each, in which you will learn and apply the basic techniques of oil painting to create an impressive portrait. Valerie will guide you through the entire process, from choosing your subject to completing the painting. You don't need any previous experience in oil painting or your own materials, as everything is included in the course price.
- Please bring a template that you would like to convert into oil.
- Print it out in A4 format. Preferably in two versions: one in black and white and once in color.
- During implementation, you will receive step-by-step instructions and ongoing help, tips and corrections from Valerie.
- After the course, you can either dry your work in the gallery for another week, or you can take the still damp work home right away. (Depending on the thickness of the application, oil paint requires at least 5 days to dry to the touch)
