About this class
In a relaxed atmosphere, you can really dive into the fascinating world of spinning the potter's wheel over 2 days. You will learn all steps to create simple vessels and get a good insight into the processes. The result is about 3 pieces, which are then glazed by us in your desired colors (choice of 5). The advantage of this course is the short period of time in which the steps are taught.
If you are still interested in deepening the skills you have learned, the open workshop is available 5 days a week to practice independently and flexibly.
The opening hours of the workshop are:
Tue., Thu., Sun. 14-18h, Mon. & Fr. 18:30-21:30 h
If you're looking for a nice place to continue working on the pottery wheel, you're also regularly welcome.
Another option would be to borrow a pottery wheel for home after the course. This is possible from 60 €/month.
The minimum age for the courses is 14 years, up to 20 years & students (only) receive a discount of 10€ for this course, which you can pick up on site.
What you’ll do in the class
On the first day, we turn the clay on the potter's wheel. This is a special experience that requires a bit of patience and practice.
The second day is about further processing of the resulting works.
To do this, we refine the leathery pieces with tools on the potter's wheel.
The result is usually 2-4 smaller bowls or cups, sometimes candle holders or small vases, which are glazed by us in your desired color (selection of 5 colors) and fired twice. You can pick them up about 4 weeks later.
Shipping would also be possible for an additional 15€.
All material and burning costs are already included in the course fee.
Who is the class suitable for?
This course is good for you if you want to get to know how to work at the hub.
You don't need any special requirements for this. The minimum age is 14 years.
If you have already had some experience shooting, it is always worthwhile to deepen your skills by taking a further course. The course is therefore suitable for beginners with and without previous knowledge.

STUDIO KAOLIN
Studio Kaolin (= white clay) is a charming ceramic studio with a focus on turning the potter's wheel.
There are regular courses here and the opportunity to use the open workshop 5 days a week and become part of our small community
The course is structured, it is well explained, there is enough time to understand and practice everything. It's also really fun and makes you want to get involved with it even more.
