About this class
The photo tour Between Sky, Glass and Concrete focuses on modern architecture in Berlin. Lines, strong contrasts, light reflections and geometric shapes are consciously perceived and implemented photographically. We teach image composition, perspective and the targeted use of graphic elements in a practical way. The aim is to experience architecture as a “built time” and to implement it creatively — without superfluous technical baggage, but with a sharpened eye for the essentials.
What you’ll do in the class
The three-hour tour starts in the late afternoon so that the subjects can be photographed in optimal lighting conditions — from precise shadows to clear skies. Together, we explore the route around Potsdamer Platz, use exciting perspectives, escape lines and reflections, and discuss the image design live. You actively take pictures, receive practical advice on camera settings, lighting and composition, and can ask individual questions. The result is an intensive learning experience in which technology and conscious vision go hand in hand.
Who is the class suitable for?
The photo tour is aimed at amateur and amateur photographers who want to take more than just snapshots and want to further develop their architectural photography in a targeted manner. Previous knowledge is helpful, but not necessary — curiosity, interest in designing and enjoying consciously discovering and photographically implementing urban spaces are important. Ideal for anyone who wants to intensely perceive architecture, perspective and light and express them in their pictures.
