Join us for a relaxing hand-building pottery workshop in a cozy Berlin studio! Perfect for beginners and seasoned creators alike, this workshop will teach you the basics of working with clay and use hand-building techniques to craft your own unique pieces. Unwind, get creative, and take home something special!
It is a very rewarding experience, as the versatility of the clay and the construction techniques with slabs and pinching allow you to obtain quick and aesthetically beautiful results.
It is a highly recommended workshop whether it is your first contact with clay or to give a creative experience as a present to someone dear or to yourself.
By the end of this hand-building course, you'll be able to:
- Create a ceramic piece, be they functional or decorative, with different techniques such as slab building, coiling, and the pinching;
- Apply textures by exerting pressure with different objects and materials on the clay and also with the help of the slip;
- Decorate your pieces with textures, stencils, etc
How does this activity work?
We will meet at Clayground Studio
In this 2-hour Handbuilding Pottery Workshop, you'll dive into the basics of working with clay. We'll provide all the materials, including clay, tools, and aprons, so you can focus on getting creative. You'll learn essential hand-building techniques and have the chance to create up to 3 unique pieces of your own.
If wish have chosen to have your pieces fired, please purchase the add-on ‘Glazing and firing service’ - you will be given a choice of 3 colors to have them glazed in. After a second firing in our kilns, your items will be ready to collect 2-3 weeks after the course.

This kit includes 15 tools to broaden the range of textures, designs, and sculptures you can make. There are 15 pieces in this kit (some are double-sided, so you have a total of 26 tools)!

This clay kit with 16 pieces and 26 total tools is the perfect way to level up your skills with clay, or to start with all the options right from the beginning! We’ve put together this kit with the growing sculptor in mind. If you want to start making stunning handbuilt ceramics at home with all the textures, shapes, patterns, and details of advanced sculpting, this kit is for you.
Please note that this kit includes clay tools, but the costs of firing/glazing will be charged as extra if you want to finish and save any pieces you make. The cost will depend on the number of items and their weight.
Do you wish to keep your creations and show them off to your friends? After the workshop, you will be given a choice of three colours to finish your ceramic piece.
