Learn how to create your very own sushi set
Sushi began to be prepared, to its origins in China, as a method of preservation of the fish in rice. When the method arrived in Japan, the rice was also consumed together with the fish. By accelerating the fermentation process of rice by adding vinegar, sushi became a fast, light, and nutritious meal and gained worldwide popularity.
Presenting this rich and healthy dish in exclusive ceramic tableware adds even more value to it. The ceramic sushi set will be like a delicate jewel in your kitchen, combining the classic lines that define it with your personal creative touch.
In the workshop dedicated to the sushi set you will create, surprisingly easy, pieces that will stand out in beauty and oriental minimalism.
It is a very rewarding experience, as the versatility of the clay and the construction techniques with slabs and pinching allow you to obtain quick and aesthetically very beautiful results.
It is a highly recommended workshop whether it is your first contact with clay or to give a creative experience as a present to someone dear or to yourself.
By the end of this hand-building course, you'll be able to:
- Build the 4 pieces that make up the sushi set (1 plate, 1 sauce plate, 1 bowl, and 1 chopstick holder) with different techniques such as slabs, coils, and the pinching technique;
- Apply textures by exerting pressure with different objects and materials on the clay and also with the help of the slip;
- Decorate your pieces with textures, stencils, etc

We will meet at Clayground Studio
In this 2-hour Handbuilding Pottery Workshop, you'll dive into the basics of working with clay. We'll provide all the materials, including clay, tools, and aprons, so you can focus on getting creative. You'll learn essential hand-building techniques and have the chance to create up to 3 unique pieces of your own.
If you have chosen to have your pieces fired, you will be given a choice of 3 colors to have them glazed in. After a second firing in our kilns, your items will be ready to collect 2-3 weeks after the course.

Do you wish to keep your creations and show them off to your friends? After the workshop, you will be given a choice of three colours to finish your ceramic piece. Please note that this kit includes clay tools, but the costs of firing/glazing will be charged as extra if you want to finish and save any pieces you make. The cost will depend on the number of items and their weight.
