Class description
Iced coffee and iced chocolate were yesterday - today we have craft beer floats!
Ice cream and beer don't go together?
Let yourself be convinced otherwise!
What is the Beer Float Tasting in Berlin?
Perhaps you already know root beer floats from the USA - a special soft drink with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
You may have even tried a beer float — typically with a dark stout and vanilla ice cream.
In this tasting, you will get to know four delicious and sometimes surprising combinations of beer and ice cream.
Find out where the beer floats originate, how you best enjoy them - spooned, drunk or with a straw - and choose your favorite combination at the end.
What is the Beer Float Tasting process?
We will try out four beer floats this evening (1 scoop of ice cream and approx. 150 ml beer) with different regional beers and different types of ice cream.
First, you'll get a brief introduction to ice cream production and take a look at the Summertime Ice Cream ice cream laboratory on Weserstraße in Neukölln.
You can then enjoy the four beer floats at a moderated tasting session.
The tasting is a joint event by Koogla Eis, Bierapostel and Summertime Ice Cream Neukölln and is hosted jointly by ice cream maker Steffi Tarun and beer sommelier Florian Bauer.
What is included in the beer float tasting?

- Introduction to ice cream making
- View of the ice cream laboratory
