About this class
Learn to scoop paper in the paper factory: On this day, you will learn the basics of paper making and experience the fascinating process of making paper step by step. From fiber processing in the Dutch to scooping, sifting, pressing and drying to the finished sheet or sheet, you will get a profound insight into the traditional craft of paper making.
In a relaxed atmosphere and under the guidance of an experienced paper maker, you will spend a creative day in the paper workshop and produce unique handmade papers up to A3 format. In doing so, you will not only learn the technical basics, but also the first artistic and design techniques with which you can specifically influence the structure, color, surface and character of the paper. Thanks to the high-quality equipment in the workshop, you work intensively and implement your own ideas directly.
The course is aimed at anyone who wants to scoop paper, make paper themselves or deepen creative DIY and upcycling techniques.
lecturer:
The course is led by papermaker Matthias Schwethelm. The book scholar and long-time papermaker is enthusiastic about the material paper, its history and the secrets of its production and is happy to share his knowledge.

Who is the class suitable for?
The workshop is aimed at all people who enjoy using paper as a material, enjoy designing and appreciate a special experience. No previous experience is required. However, the course is also suitable for advanced paper makers and paper artists and allows an in-depth introduction and free work on your own projects. You just shouldn't be afraid of water, as you work a lot with water.
