About me & my mission
Hello! I am Wahbi, the founder of Wabi Art Studio. After over a decade in a highly structured, analytical career as an engineer, I felt a deep desire for a creative outlet. I wanted to create something real and tangible with my own hands, a conscious contrast to our highly digitized world.
That is how I discovered my absolute passion for tufting two years ago. For me, it is more than just a craft; it is a form of self-expression and meditation. Because I genuinely love sharing my knowledge and guiding others through their creative process, I founded Wabi Art Studio. My mission is to give you a space to disconnect from daily life and proudly hold your own handmade artwork in your hands by the end of the day.
Location & Equipment
My workshops take place in the beautiful OH Leaux Kreativwerkstatt in Neu-Ulm. The location offers a bright, inspiring, and welcoming atmosphere where you can immediately dive into a creative flow.
The studio is professionally equipped: each workspace has its own tufting frame and high-quality tufting guns. As a special highlight, you have access to a massive color selection of yarn made from 100% New Zealand wool. To ensure I can dedicate enough time and personal attention to every single guest, the capacity of the location is intentionally limited to a maximum of 6 people per workshop.
Courses & Events (What makes the experience special)
In our hyper-connected world, this 3.5 hour workshop is your chance to completely unplug, slow down, and be entirely present. The rhythmic sound of the machine and the tactile feel of the wool naturally pull you into a relaxing "flow state."
During this time, you will learn the complete A to Z process of the craft: from tufting and gluing to trimming, shaving, and backing. No prior experience is needed, and anyone aged 16 and up is welcome. I will guide you step by step so you can experience the deep satisfaction of making something tangible, taking your 100% finished 30x30 cm artwork home on the exact same day.
Team events & Private events
Whether it is team building, a bachelorette party, or a birthday celebration with friends, I offer exclusive private group events. Tufting is incredibly well-suited for groups because it is a completely new, tactile experience that instantly brings people together.
Away from the daily grind of the office or university, you can learn something new, laugh together, and inspire each other's designs. There is no pressure to perform just shared creativity. At the end of a private event, every group member goes home not only with a great shared memory but also with a highly personal, self-made design piece for their own wall.
