Stone writing art

My name is Johannes Maria Selva, I'm originally from Abtenau in the Hallein district. After compulsory school, I attended the Fachschule für Bildhauerei in Hallein for 4 years. From the 2nd grade on, I came into contact with Untersberg marble and since then I have been gripped by working with stones.

After sculpture school, I moved to the city of Salzburg and worked as a sculptor at the Salzburg Festival for 6 months. I also worked as a cemetery and ornamental gardener in the Salzburg cemeteries for 6 months and then started as a stonemason worker with Eduart Walkner, who specializes in tombstones,
where I got the taste of becoming self-employed as a writemaker in the future.
I then looked all over Austria for an apprenticeship as a stonemason and happened to come to Vorarlberg in a small village called Göfis.
I spent two years there and spent most of my time doing the detailed work for kitchen countertops and bathtub veneers.
(cutting, gluing, finishing touches and assembly).

So I had the years together to register a business and at the same time I met my true love and ended up in Vienna.

Since 2018, I have been working as an independent writer and stone sculptor in the Weinviertel, Waldviertel and Vienna area.
