We did the Thai cooking class at Kaoru. It was a super great evening. We were 16 people that evening, which was a perfect number. Kaoru is really a great cook & explained everything very well. Reveal tips & tricks & show everything so that nothing can go wrong. Enzo, who was responsible for the service, was also super friendly, attentive & warm. As soon as you arrived, you were greeted warmly & you noticed that both of them had fun doing it too. Questions could always be answered by both of them. All in all, you can say that it was an absolutely successful evening & the price is definitely justified. We will definitely be back again.

Kursleiter: Als Person 5/5. Materialien: 5/5, alles gut.👍🏼 Erlebnis: 3/5 Auf Grund der Gruppengröße von 14 Leuten, war es ein großes, gemeinsames Kocherlebnis. Natürlich lässt das wiederum nicht viel Zeit für Individualbetreuung und Rückfragen. Anfangs hatte noch jede ihr eigenes Brett, und irgendwann war es dann recht durcheinander. Wir waren 60 Minuten früher fertig, der Kurs hätte also noch deutlich langsamer durchgeführt werden können. Die Location ist sauber, ordentlich und gut zu finden. Drei Getränke waren bei der Kurslänge von (eigentlich) sechs Stunden enthalten. Der Preis von 175€ ist zu teuer, später hat er scheinbar 125€ gekostet, den Preis fände ich in Ordnung. Alles in allem irgendwie in Ordnung, habe aber auch keine Referenzwerte, da es mein erster Kochkurs war. Menschlich war echt alles super.✨

The course is for anyone who likes Asian food and wants to learn something about the various spices and ingredients. The team of chef and organizer is very nice and the chef in particular is really friendly. The result was really delicious and I hope that can be implemented at home. The fairly high price is negative, even though the event lasted 4 hours, I think 135 euros per person is too much. Conclusion: I'd love to do it again, but not for the high price.

We had a wonderful evening with helpful guidance. In total, we worked out a menu of 3 courses, which were all very delicious and left us very satisfied and happy. I can recommend the course to anyone who wants to get an insight into vegan Japanese cuisine. After rolling sushi at home without success, I can now make inside outs, maki and even fried sushi. In addition, I now also know how to make a delicious frame soup. Thank you very much!

It was a lovely and delicious evening. The chef and his colleague have organized everything well. I've learned a lot and I'm very grateful for it. Unfortunately, we were unable to prepare the dessert ourselves. (Number of participants was too high/lack of time) and the preparation was not complete, which was a shame.

We took part in the “Thai cooking” course on 18.06.2024. Everything was already prepared for us - ingredients washed, cleaned, sorted into bowls. Very good cook, light atmosphere, talked a lot and ate very tasty food)) For us, there was only one drawback: we wanted to get to know other people, but there was no one there but the two of us)) It was a Tuesday. For another time, we will book a Friday or Saturday)))

Overall, the course was great! We learned a lot and had a lot of fun. I think it's normal that you might not like all participants with the cooked main course. Nevertheless, all the prepared components were delicious and perfectly coordinated. I couldn't have imagined anything better for a beginner course.

The menu was a successful mix of Vietnamese, Thai and Korean vegan cuisine. The cooking work took place directly in the teaching kitchen. Our chef explained a lot and patiently: about washing rice, cutting vegetables, choosing the right knife, simply lots of tips and tricks that were also very helpful for people with a bit of cooking experience. They cut and ate together. A successful social evening with a learning effect.

The cooking class was well prepared and was accompanied by a professional chef. The atmosphere among the participants was great and cooking and eating together took place in a good atmosphere. The drinks with the meal were of very good quality. All recipes/dishes have been briefly explained by the chef and accompanied in their execution (i.e. where it could be difficult). When questions were asked about the basics, such as correct cutting or order within a recipe, the answer was excellent.

Running Papaya — Who are we?

Welcome to Running Papaya! We are passionate chefs with a mission: to discover the diversity of global cuisines and share the joy of cooking. Our founder, Michael Hoffmann, is an experienced chef with an impressive culinary background. After completing his cooking apprenticeship at the renowned 5-star Hotel Bayerischer Hof and studying nutritional science, he is now also a certified nutrition coach.

Since 2016, we have been running our own cooking school in Berlin and are more than just a provider of cooking courses. We would like to take you on a culinary journey around the world, where you can discover a wide variety of tastes and aromas. We pay particular attention to seasonal and regional ingredients and also offer vegetarian, vegan and allergen-free cooking courses.

 

What does the location of Running Papaya look like?

Our unique location is located in an old forge in Berlin Wilmersdorf. It is a beautiful industrial location and can accommodate up to 40 people. Getting there is no problem with the subway line U7 and numerous bus lines. Parking spaces are available on the streets around the location for those arriving by car.

Our fully equipped kitchen offers spacious work areas, high-quality kitchen appliances and a cozy dining area where you can enjoy your culinary masterpieces.

Our cooking school is equipped with everything you need for a great cooking experience. We offer high-quality cooking utensils such as pans, knives, bowls and much more. Everything so that you can fully concentrate on cooking and discover new worlds of taste. We also offer you a cozy dining area where you can enjoy your delicious creations.

Our goal is to foster creativity and community. That is why our courses are interactive and practice-oriented. You not only learn theoretically, but also put what you have learned directly into practice. Our experienced and passionate chefs are with you every step of the way and help you improve your culinary skills.
