Hint-Caching: city rallies in Germany

The tour was really nice and interesting. You can take a break in between, have a nice coffee and then move on. Very nice idea. What surprised us a bit was that sometimes you went to a point, solved the puzzle, then had to go back again to get to the next puzzle and then back in the direction of where you were before. Sometimes you just had the feeling of running “zigzag.” It wasn't too bad, but maybe we could plan it another way. We would do such a self-guided city rally again at any time.

Overall, a recommendation. You are super flexible, something is said about the history of the city. I would also be happy to provide you with more information about the city.

Great idea to experience Cologne's old town in a different way. The puzzles were not too heavy. Overall, the tour for children was a bit long - it blew out at the end. And if you have children with you, you could somehow think of a kind of treasure/reward at the end (but I have no idea myself right now, but the children always asked about the “treasure” or what happens at the end)

The route was too chaotic through the city; you often walked the same route several times. That robbed us of our desire. Unfortunately there were some construction sites, which is why questions could not be answered. The questions themselves were well selected and solvable.

Experience with online city rally. It was really fun. We are looking forward to the next tour...

The free time management was great!

Maybe we didn't understand it at the beginning - but the beginning was a bit confusing. We found the puzzles a bit too difficult - we had to ask for help very often. But we've seen and learned a lot!

Overall, it was a very nice day in Rothenburg. We have discovered a lot of beautiful corners that we haven't noticed before. Unfortunately, we did not write down the stops where we would have liked to have a few more tips on how to get ahead, as it was sometimes very difficult to get ahead. However, the help was very helpful - we remember the unit of measurement foot - here the number after the decimal point could not be solved. With the relief at the museum, the solution was difficult for us to understand, even because of the solution specification. The beginning was a bit bumpy, as we, as completely inexperienced rally enthusiasts, would have needed a previous “instruction manual”. At the starting point, it was unclear where we should go afterwards. We mistakenly opted for the numbering on the city map. After we had discovered the clue to the next station during the further tasks, everything was okay so far. We would have liked something more informative. The questions about personalities (well-known spa guest, honorary citizen) were good, we found it rather uninteresting to count pieces of the mosaic. Overall, however, we had a thoroughly entertaining afternoon.

It was our first tour in this form. That's why there was no “twisted” look and a way of thinking at the beginning. You quickly found your way into it. It was 8 km in total and we saw corners of Stuttgart that we would not have noticed during a normal city tour. Great and the next tour will certainly be made

Great, it was a cool experience! Only for one task on Kaptielplatz was the letter in the task “W” but it was station “B” on the city map. However, we were able to solve the problem with the help of the first clue:)

I wouldn't book the tour again and I wouldn't recommend it. It was a hassle to enter everything. Correct answers were rated as incorrect when entered and I had to re-enter them several times until the verification finally rated the answer as correct and the next task was unlocked. In my opinion, the city map for Frankfurt is more than in need of improvement. There was only an address with a house number for the starting point. Otherwise, I needed the first clue to know exactly where I should go. The numbering of stations was also illogical. Names such as “bust” of Charlemagne are incorrect, as it was actually a statue. That's just for the sake of completeness.

Nice to see unknown alleys and learn something about Mozart. The family wanted to stop off at a café in between, so we only made it halfway through the tour. After that, we had to travel home. Thank you! Nice and flexible idea.

It was a lot of fun, but a bit too much text for Kulturbanausen like us.

It was a great experience

It was a super entertaining afternoon. You can see Ulm from a different perspective and learn exciting things about the history of the city.

Overall, we really enjoyed the tour. However, we were unable to solve one question.

It was so great! We had 2 teams that did the scavenger hunt as a competition! It's a tricky one, but you definitely get to see new parts of the city! Great to do with short notice, and a wonderful opportunity to see the city!

Nice tour, with entertaining information. We didn't pay attention to the time and loved the fact that we always had the opportunity for a drink or snack in between.

The tour is well prepared with in-depth knowledge. Sometimes the descriptions of the puzzles were a bit difficult to interpret. But there are the help and solutions for that if you get stuck. We think the number of puzzles is a bit large, but when you take a break for drinking or eating, it works. Since we had good weather, that was no problem, the organizer also has no influence on the existing construction sites. Since we did a self-guided city rally once, it was new territory for us.It works better next time. Overall, it was fun.

The tour route and story were timely, varied and entertaining. Sometimes the tasks were a bit tricky. But that may also have been due to us or our low number of participants (1 E + 1 K). It's a pity that individual stations or tasks due to construction sites or the lack of existence in the meantime could only be solved with the help of digital photos provided. Nevertheless, the rally is recommended.

It was a lot of fun for us. We only came up with the idea when we were out and about that it would be good if the lyrics could be played back as audio. My partner had to pay close attention to me while I read out the lyrics 😅

Very nice tour, and good app. We've often passed by the buildings but this time they've looked at them with different eyes. The assistance (also regarding construction sites) are very good and staggered in such a way that you can still search/think about. We loved it, thank you 🙏

The city rally was definitely an entertaining and informative experience for us, great pastime during the holidays, even the youngest (9 years) had fun. Absolutely fine in terms of running, it took us two hours.

It was super fun and was a playful insight into the history of the city. The penultimate station was a bit too difficult, or had not provided any clues at all as with the other stations, so it was impossible to find out anything without help. But apart from one or two stops, it was really great.

A nice tour through Salzburg's old town.

Once upon a time, it was something completely different from a standard city tour. You were completely independent of time, you could stay at the stations for as long as you like and interrupt with a visit to the café, which was also good when it was cold. Big disadvantage: the poor Internet in downtown Ulm (at least O2). You have to run away from stations more often to be online again. Very suitable for older, tech-savvy visiting groups of students and gym students with an advanced history course.

It was also fun to learn something about X-rays while puzzling.

The scavenger hunt took us to interesting places. However, the story about Jakob Fugger was told too long, with too much data strung together. Difficult to follow in terms of content! Sometimes less is more.

There were six of us and it took about 3 - 4 hours (but we also got stuck at some Christmas markets). I thought that was great and we also learned a lot of new things. We would have been happy to learn more about Lindwurm and maybe also to come to Lindwurmstraße, as this was suggested to us at the beginning (by your site). Would recommend this to others!

We found it a bit too long and honestly we didn't finish it either. The story was actually long to read aloud. Otherwise, the stops were great, we had some new discoveries in Stuttgart and as a team building activity, this is also a great activity. Thank you very much

The course was very well described and also allows you to get to corners that you wouldn't necessarily see and visit otherwise. As darkness set in, it became a bit trickier when solving the puzzles. All in all, a great concept that brings you closer to the history and city of Bamberg in a fun and beautiful way.

We did the scavenger hunt in Heilbronn. One point of criticism lies in the preparation of the scavenger hunt. It was stated that a mobile phone was enough. When logging in, it was pointed out that the city map should be uploaded to a separate mobile phone. Since we didn't have a second cell phone with us, we tried to open the map in a separate window. Unfortunately, when changing the window, the game was interrupted several times. Otherwise, the tour was very nice.

Nicely packaged city tour

It was easy to book. Took longer. 3.5 hours. Sometimes you had to think outside the box. There were 5 adults. But it was fun, despite the city festival

We had the tour with a pretty runny child and yet it had relatively few moths. You can see a few beautiful corners of Würzburg, including some unknown ones. I thought it was good. Clear recommendation!

It was fun and you saw really beautiful places in Nuremberg. The only criticism is that you have to look at your cell phone quite often. It would be great if you could print out the map and a few puzzle tasks in advance:)

The tour was very interesting and a lot of fun. Anyone who likes to puzzle things out would like to visit corners that you otherwise always pass by without knowing what the sculptures on buildings, for example, are for. If you are interested in legends and stories, this is just the right thing for you. The routing worked great. We will definitely do that again.
