Foundry workshop Hamburg decoration | Elblys
I took part in a workshop at Elblys and had a really good time. The instructions were easy to understand. We were guided step by step. I had no experience and felt that I was in very good hands. I quickly dared to work independent...

ABOUT ELBLYS
Hi, I'm Janina — founder of ElblyS.
Elblys was born out of my love for clear forms, calm color schemes and modern, Nordic-inspired home aesthetics. Between the Elbe and the north of Hamburg, I develop and pour unique handmade decorative items from Keraflott — reduced, timeless and with a personal touch.
I am fascinated by the moment when an object is created step by step from a flowing mass. How colors intertwine, how layers create depth, how surfaces get their character through structure and nuances. Design can be quiet or expressive — but always deliberate.
From color gradients and targeted coloring to layering techniques, marble effects and terrazzo looks to speckles, inlays or modern bubble technology — the options are manifold. This is not just about individual techniques, but also about creative thinking, trying out and constantly developing.
The desire to share this process — and to create a space in which others can be creative themselves — has grown out of one's own design.
THE LOCATION — HAMBURG-LOKSTEDT
The workshops take place in Hamburg-Lokstedt — in a stylish shop studio in a beautiful listed building. The special architecture and the lovingly designed environment create a calm, inspiring atmosphere.
Between selected design objects, an aesthetic framework is created for creative design and shared experience — consciously relaxed, without hustle and bustle.
The workshops are designed for up to six participants and take place with a minimum of three people. The small group provides personal support and a pleasant, high-quality atmosphere.
Parking is available directly on the one-way street in front of the shop and in the surrounding area. The location is also easily accessible by public transport — the U2 stops at Hagendeel station, from where it's about ten minutes on foot.
Food is catered for: Water and juice are available at our candy bar, and a glass of prosecco is also included in the workshop price as a small welcome.
THE APPROACH OF THE WORKSHOPS
The workshops are aimed at beginners as well as people who want to deepen individual techniques. Everyone is picked up where they are — with clear step-by-step instructions, high-quality materials and space for their own ideas.
Depending on the format, trays, candle holders, decorative figures or small sets are created — always with a focus on clear shapes and timeless aesthetics.
It's not just about the result, but about how to get there:
working consciously with your hands, playing with colors and shapes, and the good feeling of having created something of your own.
I love creating spaces in which people laugh, try out and design — and turn an idea into a personal unique piece.
In the end, it's not just an object that remains.
It's just a moment.
And a memory that goes home with you.
