Wortgewandt agency: perfume workshops in Hamburg

Hi, I'm Karsten. I am convinced that scents tell stories. A whiff of sunscreen and we're back on the beach. A certain perfume, and a loved one suddenly stands in front of us. No other sense is as closely linked to our memories as the sense of smell.

Many years ago I was standing in line at the canteen of an educational center when a fellow trainee spoke to me from behind: “You're wearing Kenzo, aren't you? I love that scent.” I confirmed with a laugh, and that brief moment turned into a deep friendship. Today we're best friends, I'm the godfather of her son and I've known ever since: A scent can connect life.

My mission is to make this world accessible to you, without any previous knowledge. With me, you don't buy off-the-shelf scents, but find out what really suits you.

Location
My workshops take place in the hallway, a light-filled room in a former factory building on the quietly located Borselstraße 7 in Hamburg Ottensen. Up to 8 people work here at a common table so that conversations can easily take place. A private fragrance bar with numerous essences, sorted by top, heart and base notes, invites you to discover.

Getting there is easy: The Friedensallee stop is just a two-minute walk away, and it's around ten minutes on foot from Altona train station. If you come by car, you can quickly get there from the motorway and find parking facilities in the Altona Station car park (APCOA), in the Zeisehof car park or in the Sprinkenhof car park.

And for anyone who still has some time before or after: Ottensen is one of Hamburg's liveliest districts. Whether it's lunch, afterwork or a short stroll through the shops, you'll find everything your heart desires around the hall.

Courses and events
In two and a half hours, you'll learn how perfume is structured, smell different fragrance families and then create two of your own scents, for example a fresh one for the day and a warm one for the evening. You take both home in a 20 ml bottle, plus a recipe card so that you can reorder your favorite scent at any time.

What makes my workshops special: We take our time. For questions, to try things out and for the stories behind the scents. Because it is often during a conversation that the best ideas for your own mix arise.

Team events and private events Are
you looking for a special experience for your team, a bachelorette party or a birthday? I also offer the workshop exclusively for groups of up to 15 people on your preferred date. A fragrance workshop unites people in their own way: Each person creates something personal, and yet the group laughs, smells and marvels together. In the end, everyone goes home with a piece of memory of that day.
