Welcome to Dennis Gesang — Rediscover the sound of your soul
I am Dennis, musician, handpan player and sound lover from Althengstett in the northern Black Forest. My musical journey began with the piano and finally led me to Handpan — an instrument whose special sound immediately fascinated me.
What particularly touches me about the Handpan is its direct connection between sound and feeling. You don't need years of musical education to create beautiful sounds with it. It is precisely this experience that I would like to share.
My workshops are therefore not just about learning an instrument. It's about becoming curious, discovering your own musical expression and getting away from everyday life for a moment.
My mission is to encourage people to experience music for themselves — regardless of whether they already have musical experience or are holding an instrument in their hands for the first time.
Location
My premises are located in Althengstett near Calw in the northern Black Forest.
My sound and workshop room of around 70 m² creates a quiet and personal atmosphere in which we can concentrate entirely on music and sound.
The room offers space for small groups and is equipped with various handpans and sound instruments. This allows participants to get to know different instruments and try them out directly.
The atmosphere is deliberately kept personal: not a large seminar room, but a room in which you can feel comfortable, try things out and completely immerse yourself in the sound.
Classes and events
The special thing about my Handpan workshops is the combination of practical learning, intuitive music making and personal support.
You don't have to be able to read notes and you don't need any previous musical knowledge. Step by step, you will get to know the Handpan and can play your first own melodies and rhythms during the workshop.
It is not about learning as much technology as possible as quickly as possible. Instead, I want to show how easy it can be to get into a musical flow with the handpan and discover your own sound.
In addition to workshops for beginners, I also offer offers for advanced players as well as special sound and music experiences.
Team events and private events
Handpan and sound are great for experiencing something new together.
On request, I offer private workshops and individual group events — for example for groups of friends, families, birthdays or special shared experiences.
A joint handpan workshop can also be an extraordinary experience for teams: Everyone starts together, tries out something completely new and experiences how individual sounds gradually create music together.
The focus is not on performance, but on shared experience, creativity and a relaxing time together.
