There are many in England — but in Austria she is the first professional cake designer. As a successful graphic designer for many years, Renate Gruber combines her distinctive feeling for beauty and refinement with culinary exhilaration. Her personal focus is on designing cakes and, of course, cupcakes! They are supported by an excellent team, which lovingly implements the vision of CupCakes Wien every day!

How it all began!

In 2010, Renate Gruber fulfilled her big dream of having her own shop and bakery “CupCakes Wien” at Josefstädterstraße 17 in Vienna's 8th district. But soon the small, sugar-sweet shop was too tight and a new location was sought and also found in Albertgasse 17. There is now a large, bright bakery where you can also watch the confectioners baking and decorating. Our cozy café with 3 tables and a romantic outdoor dining area is right next door. Our shop is barrier-free!

Where and how we work

Our cupcakes are made entirely in Vienna's 8th district, in our bakery at Albertgasse 17. Our bakery can be seen from outside through large windows facing the street. So anyone who wants to watch us work is always invited to do so :-) We focus on transparency and a nice, bright workplace for our employees. Because only those who feel good like to be with us and bake delicious cupcakes!
