Bio‑Balkon is a project about ecological gardening in a small space: balcony, terrace or window sill — in the middle of the city. Bio‑Balkon is founded and operated by Birgit Schattling, who acts as a “balcony ambassador” and shows with passion how you can create a green, natural biotope even on just a few square meters. The aim of Bio‑Balkon is to enable people in cities to experience nature and self-sufficiency in a small space — with herbs, vegetables, wild plants or insect-friendly plants. In doing so, the project promotes biodiversity, awareness of sustainability and at the same time offers pleasure in gardening, harvesting and nature.
