Class description
Forging is not an art, but one of humanity's oldest, most venerable crafts. There are only a few professions that have such a long history of development.
When the first hammer hit metal, the profession of blacksmith was born. The interaction of the original elements — fire, water, earth (ore coal) and air has fascinated people for thousands of years and turned forging into something mysterious.
There are various course priorities to choose from. All courses last 2-3 days and require an individual appointment.
Basic forging techniques course:
This course is intended as an advanced course for all interested parties who have forged little or not yet. A brief knowledge of materials is taught, various tools and their handling are explained and the most important forging techniques are presented:
- Forming: compression, stretching, settling, finishing, bending, twisting or twisting
- Separating: chipping, punching, splitting
- Joining: shrinking, riveting, bonding, fire welding
- Surface treatment: hot brushing, black burning
Open-form forging on the anvil:
This course is particularly interesting for advanced and beginners because it deals with the techniques of making tools and ornaments.
Using the forming techniques, it is demonstrated how decorative elements, details, simple animals and devices are made from normal structural steel. With the help of templates, literature and personal ideas, the individual techniques are first discussed and then implemented in practice.
