How does this activity work?
Here’s what we’ll do in this wheel course:
- 8th March: Learn how to add color to your clays and combine and wedge different colors of clay. We will focus on throwing medium-sized bowls or cups
- 15th March: Trimming the two pieces that you selected to keep from last week
- 22nd March: We will skip this weekend whilst your items are fired to the bisque stage (950 degrees celsius)
- 29th March: Learn how to glaze your pieces with good technique. To make the colors stand out, we will apply a transparent glaze as well as colored glazes to add more contrast and bring out the bright shades of the pigmented clay.
- We then fire your pieces for you in the second kiln after glazing them to finish them
- You will be able to pick up your finished, colorful pieces 2 weeks later
Who should definitely take part?
