The “Tokyo Jacket” sewing course in Munich allows you to create a relaxed and self-confident jacket in a trendy oversize look. Based on the style of a men's jacket, the jacket is partially lined and has a stylish shawl collar and patch front pockets. It is closed with an individually designed tie belt made of fabric or leather strap.
How does this activity work?
The workshop lasts 3 days and includes the following steps:
1st day:
- Introduction to the workshop and selection of the pattern.
- Discussion of fabric recommendations, in particular soft linen, tweed or opulent corduroy velvet.
- Cut the fabric according to the selected size and amount of fabric.
- Start sewing the jacket, including the scarf collar and front pockets.
2nd day:
- Continuation of the sewing process with a focus on details such as the tie belt.
- Integration of ironing insert for the desired shape.
- Possibly installation of leather strap for additional customization.
- Continuation of sewing work with support and guidance.
3rd day:
- Finishing work and fine-tuning the jacket.
- Discussion of options for varying and adapting the pattern.
- Tips and tricks for a professional look.
- Admire the finished jackets together and share experiences.

- Recommended fabric: soft, medium-weight linen, tweed or opulent corduroy velvet.
- Amount of fabric depending on size: 1.40 m x 2.50 m or 1.40 m x 2.730 m (for large) or 1.20 m x 2.50 m or 1.20 m x 2.75 m (for large).
- Lining: 1.00 m for all sizes.
- Ingredients: ironing board (1.00 m), cut paper, matching thread, possibly leather strap (2 m), fabric scissors, pins.
