About this class
In this small-group workshop at my studio in Berlin, design and build a leather bag to wear as a belt bag or shoulder bag, using high-quality vegetable-tanned leather and solid hardware.
The focus is on clean construction, thoughtful design, and materials that age beautifully over time.
You'll be making one of LAMA's signature belt bag designs, adapted to your preferences.
Compact, functional, and durable, it's designed to be worn daily — not stored away.
– The Object
You'll start from one of two base designs and adapt it to your preferences — choosing how you want to wear it (belt bag or shoulder bag), along with details like flap shape, closure, and leather colour.
The structure stays consistent, while the final piece becomes your own.

You'll choose your leather from a curated colour selection and personalise your piece with your preferred details.
I guide you through each step of the process — from cutting and shaping the leather to finishing edges and assembling the final piece.
No prior experience is required.

I am Dani, a self-taught designer-maker from Santiago, Chile. I founded LAMA leather goods after I quit my engineering career, and found that in creativity and handwork I feel the happiest and most fulfilled. I'm happy to pass on what I've learned and create awareness on all things handmade.
