About this class

In this art class in Cologne, you create your own small works of art out of clay and then pour them with colored acrylic resin. You will work with three exciting materials and learn step by step how an idea can be turned into a durable, waterproof object. Whether as a pendant, wall object or personal gift — your result is unique. What is special is the combination of natural alginate and modern acrylic resin, which opens up new creative possibilities for you.

What you’ll do in the class

We start with clay and model simple, maximally fist-sized shapes. We mold these with alginate to prepare a negative mold for casting. Alginate replaces silicone here, consists of purely natural ingredients (algae) and is therefore very compatible and non-toxic. At the last stage, we pour the mold with colorful acrylic resin. Acrylic resin is a fast-curing plastic that is easy to color with pigments.

Who is the class suitable for?

The course is open to all ages. No previous experience is required.
