Experience the magic of India at our Indian cooking class in Berlin! Under the expert guidance of our Running Papaya professionals, you'll dive into the world of spices and learn how to prepare authentic dishes from different regions of India.
You'll discover exotic spices such as turmeric, cardamom and fenugreek. Together with other participants, you will prepare a multi-course menu that offers both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options.
Dishes include homemade naan bread, curry lentil soup (daal), tandoori tofu or chicken, and more. The course is also perfect for vegans and vegetarians. You'll learn more about the use and origin of spices and discover tricks and techniques that make your dishes even more authentic.
The cooking class takes place in the cozy RP Eventschmiede and lasts around four hours. After cooking, enjoy the homemade meal together at a large table and share recipes and experiences. Experience a culinary journey to India and be inspired by the world of taste and the convivial atmosphere.

How does this activity work?
After a warm welcome with an aperitif from the runningPAPAYA team, you will be introduced to the secrets and regional differences of Indian cuisine. Marvel at the colors of curry mixes, masalas and fresh herbs and discover both classic and unknown Indian dishes with us. Together, you will cook dishes from North and South India using fresh Indian spices and will also receive instructive information about the spices used.
- First, you will get an introduction to the world of Indian cuisine
- You can then start cooking yourself
- Homemade naan bread with two types of dips (coriander mint chutney and mango chutney)
- Curried lentil soup (daal) with coconut milk
- Tandoori tofu or tandoori chicken from the oven
- Cauliflower tikka masala
- Indian spiced rice
- Sweet potatoes with nutmeg and cinnamon
- Finally, you will taste your creations together.
Who should definitely take part?
The cooking class in Berlin is suitable for anyone who has an affinity for Asian cuisine. Therefore, even if you are an absolute beginner, you can take part in the course with us. No previous experience is necessary, we will teach you everything you need.

What is included?
Our Indian course in Berlin includes the aperitif and accompanying drinks: unlimited water, two glasses of 0.1 wine or two bottles of beer or 2 bottles of soft drinks and the ingredients for the menu. A rental apron and all recipes to make at home are also included.

Michael Hoffmann completed his cooking apprenticeship at the 5-star hotel Bayerischer Hof. He also studied nutritional science and completed continuing education as a nutrition coach. Since 2016, he has been cooking regularly in his own cooking school and sharing his knowledge.
