What you’ll do in the class
- Friday — Introduction and first exercises
- You get to know the technology, materials and tools
- After the safety briefing, you will practice on simple window glass
- You discuss your first ideas for your workpiece together
- Saturday — design, glass and leaded glazing
- You develop a design for a small glass painting
- You transfer it into a one-to-one template and create templates
- You select suitable glasses, cut them to size and put them together with lead rods
- Sunday — soldering and finishing
- You complete the leaded glazing and solder the front and back
- This is followed by cleaning and finishing
- Finally, you will discuss stability, maintenance and safe transportation
In the end, you take home your self-designed and handmade leaded glazing.
