Würzburg 1944/45 - a slightly different city tour

Sonja Weichand, born 1984, studied German Philology and History at the University of Würzburg. She worked as an assistant director and director at various theaters for six years. During her time in Berlin, four plays were finally created, which were published by Hofmann-Paul-Verlag and Deutscher Theater Verlag. Her debut novel “Guilt Awareness” about a young National Socialist and dealing with memory followed in 2020.
In 2021, she received a scholarship from the Free State of Bavaria as part of “Young Art and New Paths” and a VG Wort Restart Scholarship in 2022 for “Die Eindringlichkeit der Welt”. The dystopia, which tells of a world without touch, was published in autumn 2023. She
now lives back in her hometown and works as a lecturer in literary writing at the University of Würzburg and at the Text-Manufaktur, among others. With her latest novel “The Greatest Fulfillment,” she dedicates herself entirely to the present for the first time.
