The course workshop

The KursWerkstatt München is a workshop for everyone who not only wants to see crafts, but also want to experience them for themselves. We are continuing the tradition of the Dictum course workshop and will start our own course program in January 2027.

Our heart beats for wood, leather and good tools. With us, you will learn classic wood connections, kumiko, chair and furniture making, leather work and proper sharpening. Many of our participants sit at their desks during the day. With us, they find the balance between creating something with their own hands and taking a workpiece home with them.

The workshop is managed by Peter Lanz, a trained carpenter, former set maker and carpenter. He has been giving courses for over 15 years and imparts his knowledge patiently and practically, even to beginners without previous knowledge.

Location

Our workshop at Haager Strasse 9 in Munich (4th floor - above the roofs of Munich; -)) is a fully equipped professional workshop on an area of over 200m². Planing benches, a machine room with a table saw and milling machine, lots of hand and electric tools and eight Tormek grinding machines await you. The courses include a machine briefing. During day courses, we provide water, coffee, fruit and cake in the afternoon. There are up to 10 places per course so that everyone has enough space and support.

Classes and events

For us, your own skills are paramount. The groups are small, the instructors take time for you, and we work with good tools and high-quality wood. The offer ranges from technical courses such as planing, sharpening and wood connections to projects such as stools, caskets or sliding doors to “outdoor carpentry”, where you build your own project. The courses are held in German, international guests are welcome, and all instructors speak good English.

Team events and private events

Building something together connects. We offer group and company courses, for example as a team event or birthday. We will coordinate the content and duration individually with you, from taster evening to the whole day.
