Who are we
Klangfeld is a place for art, music and encounters in Cologne-Ehrenfeld. We are a small team that has created a space in which people create something with their own hands — accompanied by music and in a relaxed atmosphere.
The idea for tufting came from exactly this attitude: We wanted a craft that you could really learn in an afternoon and that ended with something that you take home and hang up. Tufting is just that. After just a few minutes with the Tufting Gun, the result is visible surface, color, structure — and the moment when someone turns a frame around for the first time and sees their own subject is always the same for us.
Our aim is not to produce perfect rugs. It's about four hours of switching off, trying out new things and talking to people you didn't know before.
Location
Our studio is located on Vogelsanger Straße in Cologne-Ehrenfeld — an old building room with brick floors, lots of light and a workbench on which the wool is sorted by color.
Each person works on their own wooden frame measuring 50 × 70 cm. There are professional tufting guns, a wide range of colors and all the tools you need — you don't have to bring anything but comfortable clothes that can get dirty and closed shoes.
We can accommodate up to 8 people at the same time. The room can be booked exclusively for groups.
Classes and events
Every Sunday from 4 pm to 8 pm. Four hours, no previous knowledge required.
Here's how it works: Arrive at finger food and drinks, a short round of introductions, then briefing on gun and safety. You practice the basic shapes together before you get to your own frame. After that, you have a good two and a half hours for your subject — with supervision, but without time pressure. There are several of us there so that no one waits long when things get stuck.
Meals are included, not as an additional charge.
What sets us apart from other tufting workshops: we do the finishing. After the workshop, we will glue, grasp and cut your work cleanly. It is picked up at our monthly pick-up party — with DJ, drinks and everyone else who tufted during the month. So you not only get a workshop, but also a second evening.

Team events and private events
Yes, we do private groups — hen parties, birthdays and corporate team events. The room is then yours alone.
Tufting works particularly well for groups because everyone is a beginner at the same time. No one can do it better, no one stands by. People talk, laugh and marvel at the others' motives — and in the end, each person has something of their own in their hands instead of a souvenir photo. For teams, this means an afternoon together with a result that can then hang out in the office.
Music is part of our work. On request, we can curate the sound for your appointment or bring in someone to hang up!
