Tip: How to Calculate the Right Cord Length for Your Macrame Project

To make sure you don't suddenly run out of cord while knotting, here's a simple rule of thumb:

You'll need about 4 to 6 times the length of your finished macrame piece.

If you're using a lot of double knots or thick patterns, plan for a bit extra.

For example: for a 50 cm wall hanging, use about 2.5 to 3 meters per strand, depending on the pattern.

My extra tip: always cut a little more than you think you'll need, you can always trim later, but lengthening cord in macrame is tricky.
