Class description
the course will take place in the context of the exhibition Biophilia, by the artists Juan Tardivo, Hope Bartley and Juliana Gutierrez. in the exhibition we want to reconnect the human being with nature and the reuse of resources, to take forward the fight against climate change by avoiding the waste of materials and the possible transformation in a creative way.
That is why we invite you to take part in this course where, using old clothes, old pieces of fabric, creativity and a desire to learn, you can make your own piece of jewellery from recyclable materials.
the course will take place over two days, although there is the possibility of participating in only one.
the course is realised by the artist Michela Mazzeo
Michela Mazzeo Timmer is an artist and jewellery designer living in Amsterdam
graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Palermo.
Micheaela has worked as a decorator and restorer in Sicily and Naples.
She is a well-known artist in Amsterdam for her textile jewellery, exhibited in Italy, Spain, Switzerland and the Netherlands.
How does this activity work?
Creation of jewelery (brooches, necklaces, bracelets, rings) and contemporary textile sculptures.
Transformation of old clothes, through sewing, embroidery and unconventional weaving techniques.
Who should definitely take part?
Suitable for children (16 and up) and people of any age.

Juan Tardivo
He began his artistic training with studies in film and television direction and production at the National University of Villa María and later with a specialisation in painting at the Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes Libero Pierini in his hometown of Río Cuarto,Córdoba,Argentina.
