Would you like to experience the authentic and nostalgic style of analog photography and also use your camera in manual mode? Immerse yourself in Berlin's exciting cultural scene and architecture while capturing unique moments with your analog camera.
What is the process?
During our tour, we explore some of the most famous and fascinating places in the city. The starting point is the Drink Shop Kiosk at the Silesian Gate. From here, you'll continue to the notorious Cottbus Gate, across the vibrant Alexanderplatz and the impressive Museum Island — on this photo tour, you'll experience exciting Berlin through the lens of your camera.
I have many years of experience in analog and digital photography and am an expert on the city. You can see my work on Instagram at @carl_ansgar. I will not only help you find the best viewing angles and compositions, but I will also give you valuable tips on lighting and using your (analog) camera. I will also give you tips on how to post-process your photos. This tour will help you improve your photography skills and sharpen your artistic eye.
Don't you have an analog camera? I'll show you how you can also create analog-style photos with your digital camera.
During the tour, we'll also explore some roads off the beaten track and secret tips — from charming backyards and urban graffiti art to historic buildings with fascinating architecture. In this way, you will get to know the diversity of Berlin and at the same time experience the unique aesthetics of analog photography.
In addition to taking pictures, we will also have enough time to exchange ideas, share experiences and talk about our enthusiasm for photography. It's a great opportunity to meet other like-minded people and be inspired by their creativity.
If the weather is bad, we'll still go outside. This can create the most interesting photos.
What do you need to bring to the photo course?
Please remember to bring your own analog camera and enough rolls of film to ensure that you can take enough shots during the tour. If you want to bring a digital camera with you, think of a charged battery or spare battery. Don't forget to also bring weatherproof clothing, comfortable shoes and water, as we'll be walking a lot. If you don't have a BVG ticket yet, it would be great if you get a day ticket beforehand, as we will also travel a lot by subway.
I am delighted to go on this analog journey through Berlin with you and to capture unforgettable memories together. Pack your camera, get ready for an adventure and let us experience the charm of analog photography in one of Europe's most exciting cities!
