About this class
Have you always wanted to try pottery on a turntable?
In this 2.5-hour course in Berlin, you'll get a feel for the sound between your hands. You will get a comprehensive insight into the basics of turntable pottery. Our experienced course instructor will show you how to center and raise the sound. You can then try your hand at the turntable and (on average) design two to four of your own vessels, which are then fired and glazed by us.

Who is teaching this course?
Your course instructor is Ella Brew, Kristina or Tara, depending on which date you book.
Ella Brew (they/them) is a multimedia artist and is passionate about learning new skills and creating functional objects. Ella loves combining turntable pieces with hand-building techniques, designing tableware and experimenting with new processes. Time and again, Ella is fascinated by the diversity that the world of ceramics has to offer.
Kristina (she/her), a continuing psychotherapeutic doctor, is also a yoga teacher and enjoys creativity and group processes. Since 2023, she has enthusiastically dedicated herself to making pottery at the turntable - first at the Clay Corner Community Studio in Leipzig, now more recently in Berlin. It is important to her to support others in finding joy in creativity, learning new things and leaving everyday life behind for a moment.
Tara (she/her), also Tara Tay Clay, is a trained psychologist specialized in learning and personal development. After creative explorations in the fields of drawing and painting, she dedicated herself to the world of ceramics. She loves exploring new techniques with clay and rethinking classic forms. It is important to her to awaken the passion for pottery in others and to accompany them in their own learning successes.
Sharman (he/his) is co-founder and owner of Clayers Collective. Before studying art, he completed a three-year apprenticeship as a ceramist with Uwe Löllmann, during which he studied Japanese wood stove fire intensively. Various stays in Japan have shaped his understanding of ceramics and handicrafts.
