Tour 1: The highlights of Saxon Switzerland

Enjoy the “highlights of Saxon Switzerland” — from the perspective of the Elbe. Passing past Königstein Fortress with Lilienstein opposite, Rathen passes with the famous bastion to finally reach the idyllic Obervogelgesang via the historic Wehlen.

A paddling trip for young and old — in the midst of a magnificent landscape!

What is the process?

Starting point Königstein - Let's go paddling fun

You start at our berth in Königstein next to the ferry dock. Just 200 meters away from Königstein S-Bahn station, we recommend that you take the S1 S-Bahn from Dresden or Schmilka. Limited public parking spaces (sometimes for a fee) are available in Königstein.

We will wait for you at the berth at the agreed time and hand over the dinghy, the necessary equipment and - if you like - also the supply of food and drinks. After a short explanation or briefing, the paddling fun can begin.

Königstein Fortress seen from a boat

Right after the start in Königstein, you will sail right past the historic Königstein Fortress and the imposing Lilienstein. Königstein Fortress has been rising 240 meters above the Elbe for over 400 years and offers an impressive impression not only from an inflatable boat.

On the opposite side of the Elbe, 415 meters high, the Lilienstein sits enthroned. The climb is worthwhile - a fantastic view over the Elbe Valley and a refreshment stop make up for the effort of the climb.

Discover yaw rope ferry, bastion and the spa town of Rathen

The journey continues to the health resort of Rathen. A technical rarity awaits you at the entrance: the yaw rope ferry from Rathen. To get around, this ferry only uses the river Elbe. Held by a long rope - the yaw rope - this ferry brings locals, guests and visitors to the Rathen rock stage across the river in the most environmentally friendly way. Here you also have a fantastic view of the idyllic spa town of Rathen - a visit is also worthwhile here!

Immediately afterwards, the world-famous bastion with the unique Bastei Bridge rises across the Elbe. Here you can enjoy the fantastic view in peace and quiet and watch the hustle and bustle at the bastion.

City of Wehlen - where quarries begin

As you pass the imposing quarries - the “White Quarries”, you approach the historic “Welyn”, today's town of Wehlen. From here, it continues down the Elbe through a lovely river landscape towards Obervogelgesang with the Obervogelgesang inn.

There, you can refuel and relax in the cozy beer garden or in the inn. The return or onward journey by S-Bahn is easily possible from Obervogelgesang station, which is 200 meters away.

Enjoy paddling fun on the Elbe — we'll take care of the rest.
