8-day guided family tour “We are Family”
The Mecklenburg Lake District is an extensive network of lakes and canals. The best way to explore this natural landscape is by canoe. Our guided family tour not only focuses on sporting activity, but also on the group experience. The tour is carried out with a trained canoe guide, who prepares the group for the upcoming challenges, explains how to handle the boats and draws attention to rules of conduct on the waters and in the Müritz National Park.
The tour is a program for everyone who sees themselves as a family. Fathers, mothers, children... If that includes grandparents, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews — even better! My family tours are programs with all the trimmings, with time for moderate travel and lots of breaks to take a breath for the little ones and the adults. Because despite all planning, free time for being together without a firmly organized program should not be neglected.
How does this activity work?
Sunday: Arrival during Sunday afternoon. We explore the area and set up camp. The children and we are having our first paddling experiences. When cooking and eating together, we become familiar with each other.
Monday: First experiences: Tour to Müritz — back and forth without luggage.
We get to know each other better, learn our strengths and test our team spirit. The tour takes you through Müritz National Park. We can take a break at Müritz Fischer. After refreshments with fish sandwiches and drinks, we can drive to Müritz and take a bath or travel home to the campsite.
Overnight at the well-known camping site
Tuesday — Saturday: Nomad life begins: From today on, we're on the road! We travel from campsite to campsite with the boats and our luggage. We take down and set up our tents there. If we particularly like it somewhere or we need a paddle break, then we are welcome to stay in one place for two days — rest, shop, have leisure time. A lot can do, little has to. We have time and are flexible. The highlights of the tour: water hiking trails the Altef trip, the water lily paradise, the Müritz National Park, the Drosedower Dek, the Schwaanhavel and the Havel spring area. On Saturday evening we reached our final campsite, where we can round off the week barbecuing and talking together and head home in peace and quiet on Sunday after breakfast.
Bring along: sleeping bag, sleeping pad, personal equipment, rain gear, water bottle, mosquito and sun protection, and replacement shoes
14 days before departure, you will receive your packing list, learn more about the common meeting point and be informed about the final number of participants and your guide.
