About this class
Once a week, I would like to “invite” you to dive deep into traditional Congolese cuisine with me as part of a cooking class. Let's start with my favorite food: Fumbwa, also known as oko or eru, is a leafy vegetable with a very high protein content and similar in taste to spinach.
It grows in Central Africa, where it is also mainly eaten. Combined with peanut butter, palm oil and baked fish, it is a treat.
There is also makemba (plantains), kwanga (cassava bread), mikate and much more...
Let's enjoy Congolese cuisine together.
Who is the course suitable for?
Everyone who is in the mood for a cooking class and wants to try something completely new is welcome. It doesn't matter whether you are a beginner or someone with experience. The focus is on learning and having fun together.
Details to remember

Bijoux Mankele
I, Bijoux, grew up in Angola, Congo and later in Cologne, now in Berlin, learned to cook from my beloved grandma and would now like to make the diversity of African cuisine known beyond fufu and couscous.
Completely different from typical cooking courses and therefore a super interesting experience with delicious food and a nice atmosphere.
