About this class

Do you know the feeling of looking in the refrigerator and thinking: “I should cook something out of that? ”

This evening is not a classic cooking class, but an invitation to cook in a more relaxed and courageous way.

Instead of having to shop first, you work with what is already there at home.

  • Moderated, creative cooking evening without fixed recipes
  • Joint brainstorming from the ingredients you have brought along
  • Cooking in small groups with lots of interaction and fun

What you’ll do in the class

Together we'll watch:

  • What goes together?
  • What brings freshness, spice or texture?
  • How do you turn a few individual ingredients into a harmonious dish?

I will guide you with ideas, techniques and small kitchen tricks — for example, how to make dishes creamy without using cream, or how binding works even without eggs.

We cook mostly plant-based dishes without making it feel like sacrificing. The focus is on trying things out together, sharing and enjoying. Perfection is not the goal — but aha moments, new combinations and more safety for your everyday kitchen.

Example of what can (but never has to) arise. Depending on the ingredients brought along, for example, the following have been created in recent evenings:

  • Creatively filled wantans with nuts and shiitake
  • Summer rolls made from kohlrabi leaves with soy noodles and herbs
  • Freestyle caponata made from various oven and pan-fried vegetables
  • Fruity vegetable curry
  • potato peel chips
  • Bread rolls or crispy pretzel dumplings made from stale bread
  • Chicory boat with fruit and nuts
  • Vegan banana bread muffins made from overripe bananas
  • Chocolate mousse made from tofu and melted chocolate

Every evening is different — and that is exactly what makes it so appealing.

Finally, we enjoy everything together in the DOCHOWS kitchen studio as a relaxed sharing buffet and I continue to chat out of the sewing box.

Who is the class suitable for?

  • 12 interested people who enjoy cooking
  • More safety when cooking spontaneously without a recipe
  • Ideas on how to create delicious dishes from just a few ingredients
  • Simple herbal alternatives that are really suitable for everyday use
