Welcome to the sourdough bread baking course at Studio32 Berlin! Learn the art of sourdough and bake delicious, aromatic breads at home, step by step.

The art of sourdough

In this course, you will learn how to make and maintain your own sourdough. You'll get exciting insights into the microorganisms that influence the taste and texture of your breads. Our experienced bread experts share their tips and tricks for a lively, healthy and aromatic sourdough.

Creative crust design

Learn how to creatively design the crust of your breads. From classic cuts to decorative patterns, we'll show you techniques to visually personalize your breads and give them a personal touch.

Tips for the home oven

You can also achieve professional results with your normal oven. Our experts will tell you how to make optimal use of temperature, placement of breads and steam supply to achieve a perfect crust.

What you’ll do in the class

After a warm welcome drink, you will start with a theoretical introduction to sourdough, microorganisms and dough production. Under the guidance of our experienced bakers, you will make two different doughs:

  • Potato spelt bread with herbs and spices
  • Wheat bread with an airy texture and mild flavor

While the breads are going, prepare delicious accompaniments:

  • a soup
  • two spreads
  • fresh butter
  • a sweet dessert

You'll also learn creative crust techniques and professional tips for baking at home. Finally, we taste all the breads together in a relaxed atmosphere. Of course, you'll bring your own sourdough batter for home.

Note: Your sourdough mixture needs a longer rest period in the refrigerator. For the breads baked in the course, we therefore provide suitable sourdough batches so that everyone can get started right away.

You will learn how to bake aromatic and crispy breads yourself and get the know-how to master your own sourdough creations at home. With practical tips on dough management, crust design and baking techniques, we spark your passion for baking bread.

Als 1. es waren alle sehr nett. 2. die Location war mega schön. 3. das Brot war richtig lecker. 4. toll, dass man getränketechnisch so eine große Auswahl hatte. 5. ich fand es schön, dass wir eine kleine Gruppe, aus 8 Leuten waren. 6. Suppe und Butter haben wir nicht mehr geschafft, aber dafür konnte Jeder 2 unserer Brote mitnehmen. Jetzt zur Kritik: ich hätte mir gewünscht, dass man mit den Anstellgut beginnt, was ist genau zu tun um einen guten "Mamateig" (Sauerteig) zu bekommen? Wasser : Vollkornmehl für ca. 5 Tage 1:1 füttern = fertiger Sauerteig, wenn er ausreichend gewachsen ist. Einige der Teilnehmer/innen war das am Ende der Veranstaltung, nach Rücksprache, immer noch nicht ganz klar. Trotzdem ich würde jederzeit wieder teilnehmen. Hat echt Spaß gemacht! Danke Moritz. LG.
