Mozzarella, wine & crafts: an experience for all senses
I am Maike — certified cheese maker, assistant sommelier and passionate host for delightful moments. My love for special foods has been with me for many years and I am particularly fascinated by the delicate craftsmanship behind real mozzarella and impressed by the variety of biodynamic wines. I am therefore convinced that culinary knowledge should be shared — openly, delightfully and with a dose of curiosity.
During my training, I learned and developed traditional manufacturing processes so that my course participants go home with a sure sense of milk, warmth and timing — and of course can also try their homemade mozzarella balls. I discovered biodynamic agriculture while harvesting on the Moselle — since then I love presenting wines whose quality you can not only taste but also feel.
Places where pleasure comes alive:
My courses take place in special locations in Hamburg — such as in the charming Alte Schmiede in Ottensen, an atmospheric backyard loft with lots of character, at Villa Verde in Eimsbüttel, in rustic brick walls with warm light and open kitchen islands, or at the pot cookers in Mundsburg, an idyllic cooking retreat with stylish furnishings in a central location. Depending on the format, you can even board a houseboat — because yes: you can even make cheese on the water! The rooms can accommodate 6 to a maximum of 20 people and create a cozy, creative atmosphere.
What makes my courses special In my workshops, we combine knowledge with practice: From the first drop of lab to the final drawing of the mozzarella ball, participants experience the entire manufacturing process. The freshly prepared cheese is tasted directly, accompanied by selected German wines from biodynamic winemakers or non-alcoholic beverage alternatives — all with peace, enjoyment and plenty of space for exchange.
A celebration for groups Whether it's a team event, a birthday or a bachelor party — my courses are made for groups who are looking for more than just a meal together: Here people try out, laugh, marvel and enjoy. Producing and tasting together creates real connections.
