The story:

The Margarethenhof winery, idyllically situated in Ayl an der Saar, looks back on a history that is characterized by family tradition, dedication and passion. The foundation stone was laid in 1986 by Jürgen & Dorothee Weber. Over the years, Margarethenhof has developed into a place where tradition and innovation meet. With the arrival of son Nicolas, a new generation was added with many new inspirations and ideas. The winery has grown organically step by step over the last few decades and is still family-run. This down-to-earth attitude and family environment are two of the winery's greatest values.

For her, her job is a kind of passionate craft and detailed art. Year after year, the ultimate goal is to extract the best possible wine quality from the circumstances of the vintage. They want to produce more complex and structured wines to create a special drinking experience with every bottle. Their wines should reflect the terroir of the two Moselle and Saar rivers and their homeland in every sip.

For four years, they have been working intensively to make the winery climate-neutral. They want to work in harmony with nature and therefore rely on biological and biodynamic working methods and findings. Therefore, they only use organic fertilizers and biological plant protection. They also specifically refrain from using herbicides and insecticides.
