Experience a delightful evening at a wine seminar for beginners in Hanover! This seminar is perfect for anyone who wants to learn more about wine — whether you're just starting out or want to deepen your knowledge.
Together, we explore the basics of oenology, from production to sensors to quality features. Enjoy 8 to 9 exclusive wine styles from renowned wine regions, accompanied by a delicious cheese and charcuterie board.
The following wine knowledge awaits you:
- Wine: What exactly is in it?
- Differences in viticulture and production for red, rosé and white wine
- Sensors - Basics of wine tasting: With all senses, we try and talk about appearance, smell and taste. We talk shop about our sensory impressions like the pros: dry, body, aromas, length and integrated wood!
- How do you recognize a high-quality wine?
- What does the wine label tell us about the wine?
- Which wines are “in”, which are “out”?
- We are talking about the use of the right glasses, drinking temperature and shelf life of the wine anyway!
- We clarify many wine terms such as: cuvé, decant vs. carafing, cool climate, natural wine, climate change, etc.
What you’ll do in the class
- Welcome with a high-quality sparkling wine.
- Introduction to the basics of oenology and sensory technology.
- Taste 8 to 9 typical wine styles from white and red wine grape varieties from world-famous wine-growing regions.
- Enjoy a cheese and charcuterie board with high-quality specialities such as Delice de Bourgogne, raw milk Camembert, epoisse, aged cheddar/gouda/comté, blue cheese as well as South Tyrolean bacon, Milanese salami, truffle salami, roast beef and more.
Who is the class suitable for?
The course is aimed at curious wine lovers, beginners and anyone who wants to spend an enjoyable evening with like-minded people.
Public appointments for max. 10 participants.
Private groups (JGA, team event, private event) of 8 people or more are welcome to make an appointment request with their preferred date.
A bottle of wine is enough for a tasting for 8 people. Therefore, optimal group sizes can be divided by 8, i.e. 8/16/24/32... people. Of course, only 13 people can take part, then the rest of the wine will be taken home!
