About this class

A coastal wind blows through our kitchen — and brings the flavors of Sorrento straight to Nuremberg! In this 5-course cooking class, we will take you to the sunny Amalfi Coast, where lemon trees blossom, the sea smells and every meal tastes like a holiday. Together, we will prepare a festive menu that shows the full variety of Sorrento cuisine: from rustic vegetarian to elegant maritime. An experience for all senses — to learn, laugh and enjoy.

What can you expect:

Starter: Parmigiana di aubergine
The classic of southern Italian cuisine: fried eggplant slices, fruity tomato sauce, basil and melted fior di latte — layered into a golden brown oven dish. A vegetarian start that melts in your mouth.

Primo 1: Gnocchi alla Sorrentina
Homemade potato gnocchi
baked with fresh tomato basil sauce and tender mozzarella. A real “comfort food” that makes everyone happy — from nuns to pasta fans.

Primo 2: Scialatielli ai Frutti di Mare
Homemade scialatielli — the typical short ribbon noodles from Sorrento — combined with an aromatic seafood sauce made from calamari braising liquid. Intense, Mediterranean, irresistible.

Main course: Calamari ripieni alla Sorrentina
Tender
stuffed squids with olives, capers, bread crumbs, herbs and a touch of pecorino — braised in white wine and tomatoes. An elegant main course that brings the sea to your plate.

Dessert: Torta Caprese As a sweet finish:
the famous chocolate and almond cake from the island of Capri — crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. Gluten-free, sinfully good and the perfect finale to our menu.

What you’ll do in the class

To get started, you'll be welcomed with an aperitif and small Tuscan delicacies. Francesco gives you an authentic insight into regional food culture and explains why the simplicity of Tuscan ingredients — such as durum wheat semolina, water and salt — has so much character. In a practical demonstration, he will then show you step by step how to perfectly shape different types of pasta such as pici, gnudi (delicate ricotta balls), pappardelle or the filled Tortelli del Melo.

Then it's time to tie the apron and stick to the dough yourself! With loving guidance, you make your own pasta, traditionally by hand. You'll feel how rewarding it is to work with your hands and create something that not only looks good but also tastes fantastic.

After the work is done, the highlight follows: the joint tasting. You enjoy your homemade pasta with delicious vegetarian sauces — for example, dipped in sage butter or in a strong tomato and herb sauce. Finally, you will receive valuable tips on how to store and process your pasta as well as a recipe booklet so that you can repeat the Tuscan magic at home at any time.

A lovely, enjoyable course for everyone who loves Italy, wants to enjoy vegetarian food and is looking for a special cooking experience.

Who is the class suitable for?
