About this class
The photo tour Where velvet meets steel is dedicated to urban photography around the Ku'damm. A variety of motifs are created between historic architecture, modern facades and urban movement. The focus is on image design, perspective and the interplay of space, structure and light. The aim is to consciously perceive urban space and to implement it photographically precisely — practically, calmly and without technology overload.
What you’ll do in the class
The three-hour tour starts at Wittenbergplatz and takes you through several distinctive places around the Ku'damm. Together, we explore different urban spaces — from classic urban architecture to modern glass facades to open spaces. While you're taking pictures, I'll give you practical advice on perspective, image composition and choice of subject. We consciously use architecture, lines, reflections and movement as design elements and discuss the images directly on site.
Who is the class suitable for?
The photo tour is aimed at amateur and amateur photographers who want to further develop their urban photography. Basic camera skills are helpful, but the willingness to carefully observe and interpret urban spaces photographically is more important. Ideal for anyone who wants to consciously portray architecture, city life and graphic structures.
