📷 About me

I am Jürgen Winkels, photographer and workshop leader from Stuttgart. My photographic focus is on street photography and authentic portrait photography. Both share my interest in real moments — in what happens between staging and coincidence.

For me, photography is not a technical craft, but a form of perception. It is about sharpening our focus: for structures, light, encounters, spaces in between. That is exactly what I teach in my workshops.

My passion didn't start with the camera — it began with seeing. As a management consultant, I am analytical; as a photographer, I am guided by intuition. I bring these two aspects to my courses: structured but open to what is being created.

Participants benefit from my calm, clear approach: There is no evaluation, no pressure to perform — but lots of inspiration, constructive feedback and the space to develop their own visual language.

I will not guide you in following rules, but in finding your own photographic path.

🏙️ Location

My courses take place outside in urban spaces — where the pictures are created: on streets, squares, in urban spaces. Depending on the format, I use small, quiet rooms in Stuttgart for theory and image discussion or accompany you online.

The groups deliberately remain small (4 to max. 20 people, depending on the format) so that everyone can work individually.

📸 Classes & Workshops

My workshops combine practice, creative inspiration and honest feedback. You don't get a checklist — but tools to implement your own point of view photographically.

Whether you're a beginner or an advanced user — you'll learn to observe more consciously, recognize motives and make powerful images from moments.

👥 Team events & private groups

I also offer photo walks, coaching and workshops for teams or private groups — ideal as a creative event that inspires and connects.

The focus here is not on technology, but on perception, expression and shared experience.
