About this class
In his native Japan, “Shinrin Yoku”, so-called forest bathing, is a popular method of counteracting increasing stress that is affecting the health of many people. It is about being aware and mindful in nature, taking time for meditative exercises and thus regenerating body and mind. This practice is still supported by the government in Japan today and has made a significant contribution to ensuring that the population as a whole lives healthier and more vital.
Waldbaden is also gaining more and more followers in Germany. Especially in a hectic big city like Cologne, where many people suffer from constant stress and overwork, immersing yourself in nature offers a valuable break.
And that's not all: Numerous studies show that forest bathing not only reduces stress, but also boosts the mood. Because when you stay in the forest, our body produces more hormones of happiness. At the same time, the immune system is strengthened as so-called killer cells become more active — stimulated by phytoncides, natural substances that trees release and with which they communicate with each other!
Forest bathing is also good for the heart, improves concentration and ensures a calmer mind. This not only promotes mental performance, but also a more restful night's sleep. And as a particular plus, the shared experience in nature also strengthens social ties — because being out and about together in the forest connects people on a very special level.
So dive into the atmosphere of the forest during so-called forest bathing. It appeals to all senses and helps you to calm down quickly.
My philosophy is based on the uniqueness of every person. That is why I also individually design guided forest bathing. We will discuss the exact process right at the start of our joint forest bathing so that you know right from the start what you can look forward to!
However, I would like to tell you that our shared forest bath will definitely be an experience for the senses and the soul and promotes your serenity in everyday life!
What you’ll do in the class
Depending on your stamina, we spend two to three hours in the forest and in nature, covering a shorter or slightly longer distance, but a maximum of only around 3.5 kilometers.
Small mindfulness and sensory exercises as well as meditations and tree encounters accompany us on our journey.
We dive into the large natural bathtub at well-known places of energy or at places that seem suitable to us during our walk.
If forest bathing is not possible due to weather reasons, a new appointment will be made by mutual agreement!
Who is the class suitable for?
For anyone interested over 18 years of age who is good on foot.
In the case of physical limitations, please inquire in advance with details of the restrictions, including aids and accompanying persons, if necessary. Everything should be made possible!
