Class description

Let us take you on a journey through the history of cooking! Discover what people ate at a picnic at the time of Jane Austen — and taste it right in the garden of the SchlossStudio. Cook like in the British Empire — exploring the delightful side of history!

Looking for clues through Jane Austen's famous novels such as Pride and Prejudice or Emma, we embark on a journey back in time to the early 19th century, the so-called British Regency. Back then, most ladies put together their own collections of home recipes, which had such sounding names as Salamagundy. Together, we'll prepare a picnic based on recipes from cookbooks by people close to the author — as if Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet had eaten it. We will then have the picnic in style in the meadow in front of the SchlossStudio.
