About this class
Dive into the timeless world of black and white photography! In this masterclass, I'll show you how to create impressive monochrome images using light, shadow and composition. Whether you want to optimize your technique or sharpen your artistic vision, this workshop is the perfect opportunity to take your skills to the next level.
The highlight is the exclusive opportunity to photograph the historic house on the Alb in Bad Urach. With its clean lines and the interplay of light and shadow, this architectural gem of “new construction” offers the ideal backdrop for learning the art of black and white photography in practice.
What you’ll do in the class
The day is an intensive mix of theory and practical application. We'll start with a well-founded theoretical part, in which I'll show you how to optimize your camera settings (e.g. RAW, Histogram, Expose to the right) to get the most out of your recordings.
We will then dedicate ourselves to practice. You get exclusive access to the unique rooms of the house on the Alb so that you can apply your newly acquired knowledge directly. I will be happy to provide you with individual tips and instructions.
After lunch, we dive into the digital darkroom. I'll guide you through Adobe Lightroom, Camera Raw and Photoshop and show you how to professionally edit your photos — from RAW conversion to final retouching for a breathtaking fine-art look.
Who is the class suitable for?
This workshop is ideal for ambitious amateur photographers who want to deepen their knowledge of black and white photography and perfect their image editing skills. Basic camera operation skills are helpful, but not a requirement.
