Class description
What can you expect from our Japanese wood connection course in Berlin?
Japanese wood connections are unique in the world in their quest for perfection, perfection and beauty. When joining wood without the use of aids such as glue, screws or nails, technology and aesthetics come together. Traditional crafts are regarded as art in Japan and are part of the Japanese mindfulness culture.
What is the process of our Japanese wood connection course in Berlin?
In this workshop, you will make a puzzle (wooden knot) and practice using the Japanese saw (nokogiri) and the chisel (nomi). With wooden knots, you will learn the basics of Japanese wood bonding and experience a creative process in which body and mind flow together.
The decelerating work on a wooden knot is intuitive. It promotes manual sensitivity, concentration and contains meditative traits.
The wooden knot measures 15cm x 15cm, is made of oak wood and then oiled. It is an object with simple craft aesthetics that invites you to puzzle.
The course is suitable for beginners as well as experienced Holzers. A bit of manual skill is not necessarily necessary, but it is helpful.
The course takes place in my romantic workshop on the enchanted grounds of the BLO studios. The former railway site is home to around 90 creative people and is a unique green art and cultural oasis. My workshops breathe the atmosphere of this place and therefore become a very special experience.

Pleasant course support, learned a lot, worked with your hands under guidance. It was a great day.
Great course! I've learned a lot. I can highly recommend it.
Lots of tricks learned and relaxed atmosphere.
