About this class
In a world full of images, phototherapy allows us to really see — ourselves.
I offer experiential workshops for women, in which the smartphone camera becomes a tool for self-expression, self-discovery and connection with meaningful moments.
Every picture tells a story. What is yours?
At a time when we are constantly surrounded by perfect, filtered images, the question is: What if photography could be more? What if the lens was a gateway to your inside—a gateway to emotions, memories, and truths that words alone cannot express?
This is no ordinary photo workshop. It is an emotional journey to yourself.
The power of phototherapy
When we take a picture, we're not just capturing a subject — but a moment, a feeling, a piece of our soul. Phototherapy uses this deep connection between emotion and visual presentation to create a protected space in which healing, personal growth and inner insight are possible. Through the viewfinder, we discover sides of ourselves that were previously hidden from us.
A journey of emotional self-knowledge
In these two transformative days, YOU will experience how the simple trigger can trigger the following processes:
Bringing emotions to the surface that remain hidden in everyday life
Bridging the gap between what YOU feel and what YOU can express
Recognize the extraordinary beauty of everyday moments
Feel connected to others through the universal language of image creation
Why participate?
What if your camera could do more than just take pictures — if it could make memories, emotions, and unheard stories visible?
Immerse yourself in a profound experience where photography becomes a gateway for greater self-awareness, creativity and mindfulness. Through intensive exercises, inspiring conversations and guided reflections, YOU will discover new perspectives — not only in your pictures, but also in your view of yourself and the world around you.
What you’ll do in the class
This is what you can expect:
🔹 Day 1: Looking behind the surface
- Opening Circle — A special and unexpected way to introduce yourself and connect with others.
- Introduction to photo therapy — What happens when photography is more than just taking pictures?
- Secrets of expressive photography: “The know-how” — A fresh look at light, image composition, perspective and emotional storytelling with images.
- Portrait pairing exercise: “Really seeing each other” — What happens when we look at a person not only with our eyes but with our heart? This session is dedicated to connection, perception, and the power to capture real emotions.
🔹 Day 2: Self-knowledge through the lens
- Mindful photography — Seeing with intent — Experience how the world changes when we look more slowly and consciously.
- Who are you below the surface? — A creative approach to self-image, identity and the question of how we perceive ourselves through images. Surprising impulses for self-reflective self-portraits.
- Face Fragment Exercise — A visual experiment between image, poetry and identity. What happens when we deconstruct and reassemble our image? An intensive mix of words, images and self-perception.
- Concluding group: A new perspective — looking back, reflecting and looking ahead to the future.
🔹 Day 3 (optional): Professional portrait shoot
- A moment just for you — a professional portrait session in a warm, appreciative atmosphere.
Who is the class suitable for?
About the instructor: Nino Megreli
Nino Megreli combines photography with self-expression — for her, phototherapy becomes a tool for deep personal understanding. After studying with photographer Jacob Burshtein and at the Camera Obscura in Tel Aviv, she specialized in phototherapy at Tel Aviv University, where she later also worked as a teaching assistant.
Her work ranges from creative photo projects to therapeutic support: With the Photo:Voice project, she works with autistic children on visual storytelling and integrates emotional reflections into her portrait photography. Her work has been exhibited worldwide — often in the context of social projects and intercultural art initiatives.
Participant voice — Gili:
“During a difficult time, a friend recommended phototherapy with Nino Megreli. I was skeptical at first but finally decided to give it a try.
When Nino arrived, I immediately felt her calm, sensitive presence. She created a space in which I immediately felt comfortable. The session lasted about six hours but felt much shorter. While she was taking pictures of me, she spoke very consciously and sensitively.
During the session, I experienced a lot of emotions — tears, laughter, quiet moments. Your specific questions helped me to open up. In the end, I felt a kind of inner strength that I hadn't felt in a long time.
This experience was very healing for me. If YOU are going through a difficult time right now, I can really recommend photo therapy with Nino — it opens up new perspectives and opportunities for internal processing. ”
