Blue Hour Photo Course in Mainz: Pictures of the Night

In this photo course, you will learn how to take pictures in different lighting conditions, from sunset to blue hour to blackness of night.

The course schedule:

• We start our workshop on Mainzer Fischtorplatz.
• After a short introductory round, we walk to Mainz Cathedral and do the first practical exercises there to refresh our camera knowledge.
• Through the old town of Mainz, it continues towards the Rhine, to the winter harbor.
• There, we refine our photography skills by taking pictures of the river and the surrounding, modern buildings.
• Of course, there are also tips and tricks from our professional about using a tripod and choosing the right subject.
• Shortly before the blue hour, we will walk a bit further along the Rhine, towards the Theodor Heuss Bridge.
• On the way, we look for a suitable spot from which we can best capture the lights of the bridge with our camera.
• We learn which manual settings are mandatory in order to successfully capture our environment photographically under changing lighting conditions.
• The workshop is rounded off by a brief insight into light painting.
