Class description
In this photo course, you will learn how to take pictures in different lighting conditions, from sunset to blue hour to blackness of night.
The course schedule:
- Our tour starts directly outdoors in the middle of Museum Island at Berlin Cathedral.
- Here, we use the surrounding architecture to refresh our basic photography skills.
- At dusk, we continue to Neptune Fountain and capture the Red Town Hall and St. Nicholas Church at dusk.
- Just in time for blue hour, we take up our stands in front of the GDR Museum to capture the Spree and Museum Island and work with the special blue glow of the sky.
- Long exposure photography helps us here.
- On the waterfront, we will finally take great pictures with light painting.

- Long-term photography in detail
- Manual ISO setting and focus
- Working with the remote shutter
- Professional work with the stand
- Long exposure motion blur
- Introduction to light painting
Details to remember
What to bring?
- A system or SLR camera with the option to manually adjust ISO, aperture and time.
- 3 leg stand (monopods/monopads are not suitable)
- Camera manual, if available.
- Fully charged battery, ideally a charged replacement battery.
- Memory card with space for approx. 300 pictures
- Please dress warmly for the weather and, especially in winter (we'll be in the same spot for some time during long exposure photography)!
If available, you are welcome to bring the following:
- A second lens (we work in the focal length range of 18-50 mm)
- Polarizing filter, ND filter, gray gradient filter
- Remote shutter
- A diffuser
